Going Astray

On the DĂŽ, this unique, singular path of the practitioner, the gifts are his discoveries, the joy comes from his progress, the happiness from his understanding and the harmony from his transformation.
Practice means moving forward on one’s own path. The Sensei helps you find it. He guides. Sometimes severely, sometimes gently, always uncompromising and fair.
However, some practitioners go astray. They expect favors from the Sensei in return for their many services. They seek to please in order to gain recognition. Sometimes they persevere for years. Their quest is vain. They seek outside what they could find within themselves. They are like the child with the father.
Then one or more events occur when these practitioners feel they have not received the consideration expected and due from their Sensei. They feel they have not been rewarded for their efforts, for their dedication. So, driven by a strong sense of injustice, they leave the Sensei, bitter.
How unfortunate to go astray like this!
